Stalwart Kennels was founded in 1979 by Sheila Scott. While growing up, Sheila's father bred Labrador Retrievers. Sheila decided that the Labs were too big and chose to breed Scottish Terriers. Stalwart Kennels acquired Meg, it's first Scottie, in 1979 followed by her first litter in 1981. Later that same year, Sheila attended her first dog show, and was soon hooked. Sheila's new hobby sent her on a search to some of the top Scottish Terrier Kennels in the United States. Her foundation stud proved to be a wonderful showdog, Sire, and most importantly a fantastic companion. His name (Am. Can.Ch. Stalwart's Thane of Sandgreg "Thane") can be found in most of Sheila's top lines. Thane was also Sheila's first wheaten colored Scottie. Thane was bred to Am.Can.Ch. Sandgreg's Sexy Sadie and Wychwire Jubilee, which produced the first Stalwart homebred champions. To one of these offspring Eng. Am. Ch. Kennelgarth Romeo was mated. Another was mated to Ch. Bon Accord of Wiljoy. This blending of English and American bloodlines has been very successful. Later Swedish bloodlines from the Raglan Kennel were introduced. Stalwart Kennel endeavors to produce healthy, outgoing puppies. Our show potential and pet quality puppies are guaranteed. Home to BIS BISS CAN. AM. INT JHA CH.
