Wirehaired Vizslas are loving family companions and outstanding versatile gun dogs. We are planning two litters in 2005 and are taking reservations on spring pups. A rare breed, there are only a little over 200 in the US. Not AKC recognized, WV are registered with NAVHDA (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Assoc.) and ARBA (American Rare Breed Assoc.) WHV have wonderful temperaments, just like smooth vizslas, but are more robust physically, heavier boned & slightly larger build. Their tough wire coats give them greater protection against cold and rough cover. Did you know the word "vizsla" means "pointer" in Hungarian? These dogs are outstanding pointers, but they don't stop there! A very versatile gun dog, WV will hunt, track & retrieve fur & feather on land and water. More people oriented than many other hunting breeds, the WV's strongest drive is to please its people. At Konza Vadasz WHV, we raise healthy pups with excellent temperaments and field ability. Using PennHIP to evaluate hip soundness, we breed "tight to tight" for good hips. Our pups stay with us until they're at least 9 weeks old to ensure they're properly socialized and ready to live with their new families. They are vaccinated and vet checked at least twice before going to their new homes and we guarantee health & temperament.
