Breed description:
The Dalmatian is a distinctively spotted dog; poised and alert; strong, muscular and active; free of shyness; intelligent in expression; symmetrical in outline; and without exaggeration or coarseness. The Dalmatian is capable of great endurance, combined with fair amount of speed. Deviations from the described ideal should be penalized in direct proportion to the degree of the deviation.

Breeding to the standard, Woodwynd Dalmatians are possess both beauty and brains. Our Dals have performance and conformation titles in the US and Canada. We've titled Dals in conformation, obedience, agility and road trials. Our Dals do it all and excel as Multi-Titled Specialty Winners, High In Trial Winners and Loving Family Companions. However, TEMPERAMENT and HEALTH are our first priority. It doesn't matter how smart or beautiful a Dal is, if you cannot live with him.
We breed selectively; choosing only the most appropriate dogs. Dogs are certified for hearing, hips, eyes, thyroid and VwD before breeding. Pups are BAER tested, temperament tested and microchipped for permanent identification before leaving for their new homes. We view this as a adoption, rather than a purchase. So when you get a Woodwynd puppy, you become part of our family. We're always available for information or advice.
